The curtain has gone up on Newell Window Fashions’ new warehouse and distribution centre at Tamworth.
The 80,000 sq ft centre is part of a pounds 4 million investment which Newell is making to underpin its position as the UK’s leading manufacturer and distributor of curtain tracks, poles, blinds and accessories.
Sixty new full time jobs have been created as a result of the investment, said Newell general manager Nick Friend.
The company makes products under the Swish, Harrison Drape and Kirsch brands.
Mr Friend said the new centre, located at Tamworth’s Lichfield Road industrial estate, would improve customer service and speed up delivery times.
‘And with more retailers stocking Newell Products, we could eventually be seeing a little bit of Tamworth at the windows of every UK home,’ he added.
The centre was declared open by Tamworth MP Brian Jenkins.
